For artists and sculptors who prefer to complete their own metal finishing, Kalispell Art Foundry offers Pour-Only Bronze Casting services. This service gives you access to our professional bronze casting facilities and experienced pour crew while allowing you to remain hands-on with the finishing of your own artwork.

Bring Us Your Wax or Ceramic Shell

You can bring us your completed wax sculpture or an invested ceramic shell that is ready for casting. Depending on where you are in the process, our foundry can take over the necessary steps to prepare your work for the bronze pour.

For artists providing waxes, contact us beforehand so we can review the piece, gating requirements, size, and preparation needed for casting.

We Pour the Bronze

Your ceramic shells are fired and prepared for casting, and molten bronze is poured by our experienced foundry crew using the same equipment and procedures we use for our full-service fine art bronze casting.

After the bronze has cooled, we remove the ceramic shell and rough-cut the gates and risers, leaving you with a raw bronze casting ready for your own metalwork.

You Finish Your Bronze

Once the gates have been rough cut, the bronze is returned to you for finishing. You can perform your own welding, metal chasing, grinding, surface finishing, assembly, and patina, giving you complete control over the final appearance of your sculpture.

This is an excellent option for experienced sculptors and metal artists who have their own finishing capabilities but do not have access to the equipment required to safely melt and pour bronze.

A Flexible Alternative to Full-Service Casting

Our Pour-Only service allows you to choose how much of the foundry process you would like us to handle. Instead of paying for a complete finished bronze, you can utilize our casting capabilities for the stages you need and complete the remaining work yourself.

Whether you have a small desktop sculpture, multiple cast components, or a larger work, our team can review your project and determine the best way to prepare it for pouring.

You create the sculpture. We pour the bronze. You take it from there.
